MABE - PLACES: The Barbican Conservatory

The Barbican is known as a masterpiece of Brutalist architecture, it’s tropical conservatory however is often overlooked, but should not be missed. Encasing the top 3 floors of The Barbicans concrete tower it feels like stepping into forgotten lost world where modern life has crumbled, and nature has begun to take over again.

Housing more than 1500 species of plants and trees from around the world it’s hard to believe you are standing in the middle of city life, We highly recommend a Sunday afternoon wander beneath its luscious palms before a stopping for a cocktail in what must be London’s most tropical bar set under the concrete façade that's dripping with vegetation that would be more at home in the Amazon than the urban jungle.

We're eagerly awaiting it’s reopening on May 17th.
